Charity Delivers Beech Ward Vinyl Artwork Project

A stroke rehabilitation ward has introduced a new vinyl wall artwork project to help patients navigate their surroundings more easily.

Beech Ward is one of Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust's inpatient wards which are housed within the modern Mulberry Unit. Here, expert staff offer specialist stroke rehabilitation to patients

The artwork, designed with input from healthcare professionals and dementia specialists, features bold colours and familiar imagery to aid wayfinding and add interest. Installed within the physiotherapy area, the vinyl design helps patients to find and be aware of different spaces, reducing confusion and anxiety.

Ward staff have already seen positive results, with patients feeling more confident moving around independently. One colleague commented, "It's making a real difference-patients love the new artwork, and it's improving their overall experience of care on the ward."

The project is part of a wider initiative to create dementia-friendly hospital environments, ensuring all patients feel safe and supported during their recovery.
