Local businesses bring joy to NHS patients this Christmas.

In December 2024, the charity invited local companies to sponsor Christmas trees at inpatient sites run by Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust across Norfolk.

We were delighted that our first Christmas Tree sponsorship campaign raised over £1,000 and enabled us to spread Christmas cheer to patients who were spending the festive period in hospital recovering from illness.

Our very first sponsor Coleman Opticians Hearing & Vision Centre were brought on board by a personal staff connection to Pine Cottage amputee rehabilitation facility.  JFK Consultants kindly sponsored the tree at Birch Unit, as a family member had previously worked at the site when it was Priscilla Bacon Lodge.  Clapham & Collinge in North Walsham wanted to support the local North Walsham War Memorial Hospital and Courtesy Taxi’s wanted to support the new Priscilla Bacon Hospice where a friend had been treated recently.

The funds raised from the appeal, paid for wonderful trees kindly discounted by Green Pastures but also inside decorations for the wards and contributed to gifts and festive foods for patient and staff to celebrate together.  We were also thankful to Nielsen Brandbank and Langley Toys who donated festive items for patients, and Lions of Norwich North Alpha charity with Fitter Body Ladies Ltd Norwich who funded gifts for stroke recovery patients.

Spending Christmas time in healthcare settings can be lonely, and it can feel like you are missing out on spending this special time with family and friends, so our teams spend time to help foster a fun and festive atmosphere for everyone.

Thanks to these generous businesses who helped to make it all happen!
